1. IAOC Valley Forge adds Speakers, Online Video Workshop
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Thanks to the addition of sponsors VOCUS, IBM, and Rowan
University, the IAOC 2006 Conference at Valley Forge in
Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is expanding.
On Thursday, March 23, AuthorViews will be shooting free
member videos in the morning. Space is limited; if you
would like to have your video made, e-mail IAOC V.P. Steve
O'Keefe <mailto:steve.okeefe@patronsaintpr.com> and he'll
put you on the schedule. To see samples of these 2-minute
video profiles, visit <http://www.authorviews.com>
At 2 p.m. on Thursday, Steve O'Keefe will teach an Online
Video Workshop, demonstrating the steps involved in taking
video from the camera lens through editing, rendering,
uploading online and downloading to an iPod. Online video
is hot and you don't want to miss this.
On Friday, March 24, longtime IAOC activist, Dr. Suzanne
Sparks FitzGerald, has assembled three roundtable panels
for the presentation of 12 peer-reviewed papers on cutting
edge subjects in online communications.
Luncheon keynote speakers are the dynamic duo of
podcasting, Shel Holtz and Neville Hobson from the program
"For Immediate Release: The Hobson & Holtz Report"
<http://forimmediaterelease.biz/>.
At 2 p.m. on Friday, March 24, the panel on Online Crisis
Communications will include a special guest, Jon Donley
from NOLA.com, who managed to keep the New Orleans Time-
Picayune's web site up during hurricane Katrina, making it
for many days the only source of reliable (and unreliable)
ground reports, streaming video, and hurricane victim
forums. Jon will be joined by IAOC founding members Steve
O'Keefe of Patron Saint Productions in New Orleans
<http://www.patronsaintpr.com>, and Dee Rambeau of The Fuel
Team, makers of MediaRoom <http://www.drivetheweb.com>.
The deadline for discount reservations has been extended
until March 5 -- so please don't delay. Register today at:
2. IAOC Brussels Belgium
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The IAOC 2006 European Conference June 15-16 in Brussels,
Belgium, will follow a similar format to the Valley Forge
Conference.
The program will begin with roundtable presentations of
working papers on cutting edge topics in online
communications. The luncheon keynote speakers will once
again be Shel Holtz and Neville Hobson from the program
"For Immediate Release: The Hobson & Holtz Report."
The afternoon panel will be led by IBM PR manager and IAOC
founding member Philippe Borremans. Philippe will moderate
a wide ranging discussion of online communication issues
with some of Europe's leading practitioners. Topics will
include:
* The Perils/Opportunities of Transparency: The challenge
of decision making conducted in public.
* The Business Case for RSS: Rok Hrastnik, writer of the
highly acclaimed "Unleash the Marketing & Publishing Power
of RSS" will discuss RSS and how it can be applied in a
business environment.
* Business Blogs, a contradiction? : Adriana Cronin-Lukas,
Partner at the Big Blog Company, will give her insight on
the business side of blogs.
The European Conference will be held in the state-of-the-
art IBM Forum, in the IBM headquarters building. Web:

The IAOC's groundbreaking blog show, "This Week on
IAOCblog.com" is back. The red hot program that generates
tens of thousands of pageviews each month has been on the
back burner while we recruited a new show host. We are
happy to report that Mordechai "Morty" Schiller has agreed
to take over the responsibilities of longtime show
coordinator, Gwendolynn Gawlick of PR Diva

school blogger. You can read his influential blog,
Wordrider, at <http://wordrider.blogspot.com/> and learn
