Statements of Support for the Rowan University, particularly its Public Relations/Advertising Department endorses the formation of an International Association of Online Communicators. We plan to host the formative meeting and to obtain funding to produce not only an online journal, but a hard-copy version as well. Similar to the conversion from film cameras to digital cameras, we need to communicate not only with traditional technologies, but with newer types as well, i.e. online communication. From an educational standpoint, we need to prepare our students for ways of communicating to all audiences. This association can bring us together to foster more rapid and cohesive adaptation to new technologies. Suzanne Sparks FitzGerald, Ph.D., APR -------- Establishment of this organization is long overdue. We need a place through which online communicators can develop the information, intelligence and programs they know are needed by the public relations and marcomm communities. The challenges of the Internet as a communications tool have to be dealt with by an organization that has online communications as its primary focus. Don Bates, APR, Fellow PRSA -------- Yes, I am potentially interested, and you may use my name in the grant application. You can also list me on the website. I teach Public Relations at a University - and included in my role is the teaching of courses online. Alison Feldman -------- At last ! You can count on my support. We all need each other on this one. Thanks for initiating this important work. Kind regards from Belgium Philippe Borremans
